It is analagous to the Hand to Hand skill that appeared in earlier games. This is here to give characters a non-weapon fighting options. How well you can fight or grapple with your bare hands. This is analagous to the Bow weapon line from ESO. This is analagous to the Dual Wield weapon line from ESO.

Dual Wield Governing attribute: Agility.

This represents the defensive component of the One Hand and Shield weapon line from ESO it is also analogous to the Block skill from earlier games.

How well you protect yourself with a shield. This represents the offensive component of the One Hand and Shield weapon line from ESO it has been separated for characters who don't necessarily use a shield.

One Handed Governing attribute: Strength.

This is analagous to the Two Handed weapon line from ESO.

Two Handed Governing attribute: Strength.

A higher governing attribute pushes the point they start doubling to a higher rank, while lower governing attributes push the doubling point lower. Skill ranks become more expensive to purchase at higher ranks, doubling every 3 ranks. Skill bonuses applied from the character’s race or other sources are ranks that have been applied for "free".
